About

My name is Yvette and I’m a fabric-holic.

I live in Singapore, with my hubby, and 2 little hooligans lovely children.

Any questions – about crafting and Singapore – please send me a mail at yvette[at]midnightcrafts[dot]net.

Why Midnight Crafts? Hubby & I are chronic late-sleepers. And for me, working late at night after the kids are asleep means that I can work on my craft (or blog) without little ones underfoot and emails/phones interrupting me.

Why Craft? I guess it was maternal instinct that drew me towards the quilting and sewing sides of things. When I was pregnant with my eldest child, I just wanted to sew a nice quilt for him, for the home and for everyone I know. Maybe its the ‘nesting’ instinct when you are with a child? Now, I’m not only quilting, but I’m making coasters, buntings, t-shirt appliques, crayon wallets, etc… I LOVE IT. Handmade stuffs rock!

Why Blog – Again? While I have been posting on my socials more during my break from this website, I do miss writing and creating long-form posts. Many changes have happened in my life since I published my 1st post in 2008 and I thought it would be interesting to continue posting about my sewing journey here.

Hand or Machine sewing? I do both, actually. I’m handquilting on my oldest quilt WIP still and also Japanese kits. I really enjoy handpiecing, and they are great for me to sew on-the-go!

What’s coming up next? More Q&As, I suppose. Definitely more updates on my crafty escapades!

Thanks for reading!

Stitch on!

Yvette

    Hi Yvette
I noticed that none of the website links work on your ‘shops’ page. Does this mean that these places no longer exist?
    Thanks for the info.

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for alerting me to this link issue. It was something we overlooked when we did some tweaks to the site. All good now 😀 Happy shopping!

Hi Yvette, can you let me know whether you sell the olfa self healing cutting mat 36″ x 24″? If not, where can I purchase it from.

Hi Frances, thanks for your interest. Ye, I do stock it. Available for local residents only as it is too expensive to ship overseas. I will follow up with with regards to pricing shortly.
